Why Is Alternative Medicine A Rewarding Career Option

With the ever-increasing cost and undesirable side effects of the conventional Western method of medicine, we have witnessed a constantly increasing interest in alternative medicine system. While there is an alternative medicine school in almost every part of the world now, aspiring alternative medicine practitioners are still doubtful about this as a prospective career option. However, contrary to the standard notion, alternative medicine actually has much scope now as an effective career. The speed at which each new alternative medicine school is opening now is itself an indication of the future scope of this career.

The career you take up will depend on the level of education you obtained from your alternative medicine school. If you are business minded, you may get into selling herbal remedies, dietary supplements, and various other holistic products. If you belong to an agricultural background, you may get involved in cultivation of herbs. You will definitely have a never failing career as a massage therapist, as so many spas and gyms that are sprouting everywhere need the same. Even standard acupuncture clinics and Ayurveda centers are more interested in people who are licensed practitioners from some alternative medicine school rather than those with knowledge only and no degree.

If you take up alternative medicine as a career option, not only will your career be very financially rewarding, but your cost of education from an alternative medicine school will be very minimal as well. An alternative medicine schools gives you the provision of distance learning, whereby you can obtain your degree online, studying and researching in your own surroundings. This is particularly beneficial for students who want to study from a different country. You will not have to attend regular classes at an alternative medicine school, you can obtain your degree online wherever you are, and your graduation will be very speedy as well.

One country where alternative medicine has become a very flourishing and promising career option is India. India is the land where many traditional alternative medicine therapies like Ayurveda, Unani, and Yoga originated. Even today, most rural areas in India have alternative medicine in the form of traditional knowledge as the only form of treatment in their areas. In a developing country like India, where so many alternative medicine therapies have been practiced for years, this career is of enormous scope for it is not only very cost effective but also has no harmful side effects.

There are abundant alternative medicine schools in India offering degrees and diplomas in many alternative medicine courses. Students qualified from alternative medicine schools in India are getting employment in treatment centers, hospitals, training centers, resorts, spas and so on. And with the introduction of distance learning, many foreign students who acquire degrees online from the alternative medicine schools in India, are also being able to get various job opportunities in their respective countries.

Since accession to the WTO in 2001, China’s pharmaceutical trade gained rapid development. Chinese medicine trade in 2001 totaled only $ 9.5 billion, by 2010 this figure had reached $ 60.2 billion, an increase of over 10 years ago, more than 5 times. Among them, the imports increased from $ 4.1 billion to 205 billion U.S. dollars, about 20% compound annual growth rate of exports from 54 billion dollars to nearly $ 40 billion, the annual compound growth rate of 25%, import and export growth in excess of the overall foreign trade level.
Decades, China’s pharmaceutical market continues to expand foreign trade, import and export growth in the country from 196 to 221, covering almost all the world’s countries (regions). In addition, Chinese medicine to optimize the export structure, formed bulk drug products, based on high-tech products export-oriented development model. As Chinese medicine raw materials industries, the pharmaceutical exports has always been dominant, ten years exports increased from $ 2.8 billion to 203 billion dollars, saccharin sodium, vitamin C, penicillin industrial salt, vitamin E and drugs paracetamol and other bulk materials exports have accounted for 90% of world trade, 65%, 60%, 44% and 40%.
Decades, China’s pharmaceutical market, the main foreign trade has undergone profound changes, plant extracts from a state-led, foreign investment, supplemented by private and other business structures gradually changed to private, foreign-led, diverse forms of ownership and common development of a new pattern. Accession to the WTO, China has significantly improved the overall environment of pharmaceutical trade, but with the foreign markets, the removal or reduction of tariff barriers, technical barriers and trade frictions over the rise before the WTO, also significantly increased the difficulty of response.
Deal with technical barriers to trade in, since 2001, Health Insurance Association several times through international dialogue, reflect the demands and maintain industry interest. Registration Act for the EU’s traditional medicine in Chinese exports may cause serious obstruction problems, Health Insurance Association on behalf of domestic industry under the framework of trade barriers through the WTO notification mechanism for formal concerns and views of the industry, causing the EU to focus on and respond, To properly resolve relevant issues played a positive role.
In response to trade friction, the decade of the lead in organizing the Chamber of Commerce over 30 foreign anti-dumping and safeguard measures responding to the survey work, and has launched an industry representative organizations as injury defense. Alternative Medicine and It’s Use in Natural Pain Management

Chronic Pain conditions are a growing problem in the United States. And while the debate still rages about whether or not chronic pain should be managed as a separate condition or just a symptom of another problem it is clear that pain management has become a booming segment of the healthcare industry.

Consequently, the use of pharmaceutical drugs for pain control has also reached an all time high. Drugs like Oxicontin, Vicodin and methadone, are front page news in causing America’s latest drug crisis, as a result, the use of cocaine and heroin have also reached levels not seen in this country in 30 years.

Due to the economic and scientific phenomena of the pharmaceutical revolution of the 20th century, thousands of years of knowledge were suddenly abandoned. Herbal medicine has safely and effectively treated pain for millennia, and is for safer than the synthesized, processed medications that today’s doctors seem to be all too willing to hand out like so much candy.

In the realm of alternative medicine, there are many forms of natural pain management that are in fact, the basis of where many of our oh-so-popular pharmaceutical drugs come from.

Codeine and morphine are opium derivatives that may be effective but are also highly addictive, and even aspirin is a derivative of willow bark. Many other plants have been used in natural pain management since antiquity, such as lavender and chamomile for minor pain issues and these plants have the added benefit of also assisting with the emotional component of pain such as anxiety and difficulty sleeping. Plants like henbane and mandrake are so effective that they are even used very effectively during labor to ease the pain of childbirth.

Some wonderful and powerful herbal medicine can also be found in the spice cabinet. Spices like turmeric, and ginger are two of the most powerful anti- inflammatories on the planet. These plants are natural COX-2 inhibitors; they are the alternative medicine answer to the popular pharmaceutical drugs Celebrex and Vioxx. In the middle east, India and all over Asia where the diets are rich in spices like turmeric, and ginger and cayenne, where life is also far less convenient then our own, people have a far less occurrence of arthritis and chronic back pain, and continue to work very labor intensive jobs such as farming and agriculture work even into their 90’s.

There has always been an accepted school of thought in allopathic medicine that it is acceptable to injure one part of the body to heal another, thus even common over the counter NSAID pain relievers such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen, can cause long term damage, acetaminophen to the liver and ibuprofen to the kidneys, in natural pain management many plants, roots, barks, and other herbs not only antistetic in nature but they are also anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic as well, and herbal medicine is gentler on the system and is more synergistic with the body allowing for greater absorption of the necessary constitutes.

So you see that alternative medicine goes beyond the typically accepted ideal of treating just the symptoms and goes farther to treat many of the underlying causes as well as some of the other components involved in chronic pain conditions.
